Community Involvement
The Executive Committee has decided that each year a charity will be selected to be the principal beneficiary of the Chamber’s fundraising activities. This year, that charity is The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy.
Locally based at Ingfield Manor, Five Oaks, this is a specialist service for families of young children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Parents and children learn daily living skills together at its School for Parents using the principles of Conductive Education. The charity support families with babies and children under five years of age. For more information, please see http://www.dvltrust.org.uk/

The Chamber's Chairman Susan Venturi, and Committee member, Martin Spurrier and his wife, Louise, visited our adopted charity, The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy, on March 7th to present money raised by the Chamber. Hosting the visit was Rosie Wyer, Regional Fund Raiser, who described the wonderful work they do at Ingfield Manor School, Five Oaks, just north of Billingshurst.
Susan, Martin and Louise met staff and saw some of the 80 families who attend its School for Parents, who travel with their children from Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Essex, Middlesex, Berkshire, Suffolk and the London Boroughs to benefit from this amazing organisation.
Members will learn more abouth the Trust at the AGM, when Rosie will make a brief presentation.
